Welcome to my blog, on which I occasionally post thoughts emerging from my research or experiences as an early-career historian. I work on the politics of ‘home’ in late-18th and early-19th century England at Queen Mary, University of London, and am interested in histories of material culture, home, family, popular culture and ground-level politics. I’m also keen to promote history for everybody, not just as an academic pursuit, and in working with other disciplines and institutions.

You can find out more about me by visiting my academia.edu page or by following me on Twitter.

I am a high school student who would love to ask you questions about being a historian. Do you have an email address that I can contact you at?

  3. Hey Ruth, would you be interested in creating a location-aware (historic) audio story for VoiceMap? Email me christine@voicemap.me.
